I am Peter Berecz,

a 24-year-old television journalist

working for one of Hungary’s most popular news channels, ATV. I produce weekly reports for the Sunday evening magazine show, Heti Napló with András Sváby. My work has taken me to places like the United States, Finland, England, and the United Arab Emirates, always in search of compelling stories to bring to the screen.

Imagine!

I’ve had the chance to film inside NASA’s headquarters in Houston, showcasing the wonders of space exploration up close, and in Florida, I worked among some of the world’s most dangerous venomous snakes. I’ve interviewed remarkable individuals like Lily Ebert, a 100-year-old Holocaust survivor, and the late Paul Alexander, the last man living in an iron lung. In my films, I often highlight people who face extraordinary challenges in their daily lives, yet their perseverance, courage, and determination serve as an inspiration to all of us.

My work doesn’t end in front of the camera!

Beyond my role as a reporter, I also produce longer documentaries, and from the control room or a broadcast truck, I direct live shows and music productions. My films have been showcased at international film and television festivals, and some of my stories have been featured in global media outlets such as The Washington Post and CNN. In October 2023, I was honoured with the Junior Prima Award for my work. I hold degrees from Eötvös Loránd University and the University of Theatre and Film Arts.
